Mr. Bonsal is one of the most famous venture capitalists in the United States. He is the founder of NEA, the largest and most famous venture capital fund in Silicon Valley, and initiated the establishment of NEA in 1978. Since the establishment of NEA, the fund has invested in more than 400 venture projects, of which 130 projects have been listed and 150 projects have been successfully acquired.

He is currently a Director of the General Partner and serves as Chairman for Red Abbey Capital Partners.

Prior to co-founding NEA in 1978, he was a General Partner of Alex. Brown & Sons, Inc. He is a member of the Board of Trustees of the Johns Hopkins Hospital, a member of the Johns Hopkins Hospital Endowment Board, and a director of Brown Advisory Trust Co.

Mr. Bonsal received a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from Princeton University.
